After a 7.5-month hiatus, I'm headed up to the High Peaks this weekend. I'd like to climb a slide, but I'm weary of conditions (assuming a few inches of unconsolidated snow on top of ice). I'm not looking to do any technical climbing, just a nice alpine-esque ascent. Thanks.

FYI... I bailed on slides this past weekend due to conditions. Typically a mix of rock and ice... and not enough of either to make climbing worthwhile.
