hey !

i want to know if some spers knows about route/areas that are great to get better at mixed climbing. i lead up to wi4 but i never had the chance to really practice crampons and tools technique on rock...any advice about where to go in the daks, vermont, N-H or Quebec ??? ive been dreaming of climbing the black dike on canon and other alpine route on the west coast(north cascades and canadian rockies) for years but i need to improve on dry tooling before that...

thanks for your time and climb safe !!!

I would pick up the Quebec ice guidebook, you may already own it. I know La Cordee in Laval would have it.

For the New England area pick up a copy of An Ice Climber's Guide to Northern New England by Lewis and Wilcox. If you're in the area stop in at IME in North Conway and talk to the folks there who are very knowledgeable. You could also attend Ice Fest 2011 this coming February 4, 5, 6 which is run by IME's climbing school.
