Looks like there are very few posts about snowshoeing this winter. Where is all the snow? Have you been out in the woods lately please tell me where I can put my snowshoes to work. Any snow in the Whites? How about the Dacks? Green mountains have any snow? I need to get outside AaaHHHHH cabin fever is setting in!!!

Western Maine (Rumford/Black Mountain area) had enough for decent snowshoeing last weekend.

Have you guys looked at this website? Obviously no fine scale definition but very cool. The data gets updated every day.

As of now, the White Mountains generally have between 1 and 3 feet of snow depending on elevation, aspect, etc. - somewhat below normal for this time of year, but definitely enough for decent snowshoeing.

Yeah, I keep hoping for snow myself, but we have barley got 30 degree nights going on here where I live in PA. I'm still waiting on ice coming in here on PA so I can dominate it!

It's been a fun year of drytooling and climbing scary-thin stuff in PA.

Not much good skiing in the Daks. But, approaches can still be mostly booted, which is nice.

There's snow in the High Peaks, though. Plenty of snowshoeing above 3k feet!

Just came back from a 4-day trip to Mt. Katahdin; ski/snowshoeing conditions in northern Maine are EXCELLENT right now - snow is at least 2 feet deep in lower elevations to 4+ feet at higher elevations, most lakes and streams are nicely frozen, pretty much perfect all around. Get up there if you have the chance!

Thanks everyone, Frank cool site I had not seen that before. I'm heading to the Green Mtns this weekend for some snoeshoeing I'll report back Monday with my findings.

We didn't have a winter here in NC. It never even snowed a flurry here in the Charlotte area. I was only able to hike in the snow a single time in the mountains. Had to be one of the worst ever winters for no snow and ridiculously warm weather.

Hi Everyone big let down in the snow department when I went to the Killington area in Feb. Oh well there is always next season.

No kidding I was up there for bachelor party and we were supposed to go snowmobiling but the tours were cancelled due to lack of snow on trails.

I saw snow for 2 days on and around Clingmans Dome last month.

I went hiking in the Wilson Creek area last weekend. Then jumped up to the Parkway to do some Parkway hikes.

Here was the scene when I got to Beacon Heights near Grandfather Mountain:

I heard later they got about five or six inches of snow that evening.
