Hey, i plan on doing more mountaineering in the future. I'm in the market for a good downs jacket. I'm 6'4 155lb. What companies cut slim and long for their down jackets?

Also, do anyone make narrow sleeping bags?

Feathered Friends will make custom down jackets and sleeping bags. Super high quality, not inexpensive.

feathered friends look nice, custom work is prob out of my budget at the moment. any ready made stuff that is slim and long?

I'm 5'9 and 165 when fit. 42" chest, 32" waist. Cloudveil pants seemed very long and thin for for the waist size. Not sure about their jackets. Feathered Friends does make sleeping bags in narrower and wider models, although even their non custom bags are not cheap, but consider it an investment. I have a partner who is still using his FF bags that are 30 years old. I wouldn't worry about not having a narrow bag. You can get a less warm bag, and wear all your clothes inside without compressing the insulation.

When it comes to boots...I'm essentially screwed. (Size 16)
Pants of any kind....screwed
Shell jackets....screwed

I wish you luck my friend...no way can I recommend custom gear it usually costs 3 times as much. I just managed to find that one thing that barely fits for everything I need...at least I don't have to think about choosing one! Just have to track it down lol

Here is some gear that fits me that I have managed to scrounge that isn't custom made:

-Lowa Civetta plastic mountaineering boots with size 14 Intuition liner, heat treated for my feet. The liner that comes with that boot sucks.
-Scarpa makes rock shoes up to size 16...just have to track a pair down.
-Scarpa Maestrale Mondo 32 ski boots (biggest ski boots anyone makes)...and they are still a tad small.
-BD Sabertooth & contact strap combination crampons with extension plate...I will never be able to use step-in crampons since the plastic boots mentioned above are too wide in the heel.
-I usually fit in any sleeping bad designated "Long" but I don't sleep stretched out ever.

Note that have never really found a good pair of shell pants or a shell jacket for myself...but luckily I can manage with polyester track pants and polyester clothing very well (which I am able to find).

I thought you wore size 17. If it's only 16 maybe there is still hope in finding you step in crampons.

LOL josh I weighed myself today and was shocked to see I lost weight again!

I also had my feet professionally measured at a shoe store and they have always been a 16!

Climb mountains a little less and you might gain some weight. Maybe... I already know fatty foods don't work on ya.

it seems at really high altitudes most ppl tuck the insulating pants into their boots. In which case, do the insulating pants have to be normal length, or can u get by with it being 2-3 inches short.

Good lord.....I thought I was on the tall end for climbers at just shy of 6-3! What do you do for a tent.....sleep diagonally? I vote you as trail breaker......those feet and long legs would make a nice compact snowfield for the rest of the team!

Sometimes I wake up with Matt's knees in my back. Fortunately I'm a deep sleeper so this doesn't bother me too bad.

I'm 6' 7" and 200lbs, 47" chest, 34" waist, 36" inseam. Tents are the thing that annoy me most.

Haglofs are good for tall and skinny, both jackets and pants. Rab has long sleeves but usually baggy around the waist. Cloudveil and Arcteryx also good for tall-not-fat.

Best fit is http://www.beyondclothing.com I have the Glacier Shock Pants and have worn them on 6000m peaks etc.
