Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and will be climbing Kili in two months and i've got a few questions / need some recommendations please.

Can anyone please recommend what brands / gear they prefer to use when climbing. I've read that the temperature at the summit is around 0 to -15 C and I will be traveling through 5 different climate zones.

These are my thoughts on clothing gear so far:

Boots - Vasque men's breeze GTX hiking boots
Heavy weight wool socks x3....brand?
liner socks 3 pairs - smooth thin wool or nylon (not sure if it really makes a different which I choose?)
briefs - underarmor
light weight long underwear + tops - Ice breaker 200s
Lightweight Trekking pants - REI Alpine Lake Rain Pants
Insulated synthetic pants.... brands?
Hard Shell Pants .... brands?
Soft Shell - Sandstone Soft Shell Jacket from First Ascent
Hard Shell Jacket with Hood .... brand?

***If I'm getting a soft and hard shell will I also need a down? If so, which would you recommend?***

Also Need recommendations for:
-Glacier Glasses
-Daybag
-Any other useful clothing wear that I should look into

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

You are overthinking on Kilimanjaro. You don't need hardshell and softshell jackets and pants. You don't need liner socks. You don't need four layers of pants. You don't need glacier glasses.

2/3 pairs of socks
trekking pants with zip offs
mid weight long johns for summit and higher altitude
wind proof jacket for the hike (patagonia houdini like)
fleece jacket for colder days (patagonia R1 or R2 like)
a couple synthetic t-shirts
one long sleeve top
a down jacket for the summit and at night at higher altitude
get yourself a nice warm hat that block sun (baseball hat and fleece beanie hat)

Kinda agree with Div on this one. Except for the liner socks if you get blisters while hiking (which I do). Other then that, done go spending a fortune on gear that will stay in your pack.

Pants : Long johns and pants with zipoffs

Top : long john, soft shell or fleece jacket (divnamite's list), hiking t-shirt, a long sleeve top and a down jacket.

Socks : liner and 2-3 wools

head : sun hat, beanie, regular sunglasses
