Anyone have expeirence with these up high ? My question is what sock combo did you use. I am fussing over the fit of my new boots and wanted some beta on their warmth and sock combo. I was planning on a single pair of smartwool's with a thin liner. With that combo, the boots fit pretty well. Just looking for some feedback from others using the boots. TXS, Scott

They are super warm. I fit mine and wear them with thinnish socks, a single smartwool hiker.

Thanks Brandon! Judging by the fit with my dress socks (at work and UPS just dropped off the boots!) and your comments, I think I am fine.

I know you do A LOT of climbing. How cold have you had these ? Still thinking of a light over-boot for Denali.

FortyBelow, K2 Superlight would be good to pair up with Spantiks for Denali. Maybe not necessary, but good insurance.

Dude, they are your feet. January on the summit of Shasta, cold. Whitney summit in Jan, cold. Try 'em out before throwing all in on Denali.

I've worn Nepal Extremes to 7000meters, but it wasn't the first time I tested them out in those conditions.

I know what you are saying! My concern was only for the sizing as I have a limited time to return them! I will be on Castle Peak next week, Mammoth the end of the month and three trips to Shasta prior to Denali. (At the very least) I ws just concerned that I would need to double socks etc.. and I won't have that much room in addition to leaving some extra for swelling.

They will be well tested before May!

I wore my spantics on denali with just liners and hiking socks and was fine. I brought over boots but never needed them. I've used super gators with them and have been nice and toasty in cold temps.

My cirque pro's and nepal extremes are 46.5 I generally wear one midweight sock or a liner and a lightweight. My Spantik is a 47. I wear one thin liner and one thick merino mountaineering sock. They still climb great and my feet have stayed warm. Haven't been to Denali.
