There was a 3-episode TV show called something like "Alone In The Wild" where a british (or irish?) guy went out into the woods in Alaska for a couple months. He had one of those electric bear fences with him. I almost think it made him more paranoid.

The bear fence would not have allowed Treadwell to communicate as effectively with the grizzlies, to become an integral part of their lives.

more importantly, how long would you own that thing before testing to see how strong it actually is? I wouldn't last 1o minutes before shocking myself.

Now that guns will be allowed in National Parks, I can see that this thing will be the source of all kinds of fun. Imagine it's the Valley in midsummer, one guy has this set up around his beer cooler, and the obnoxious drunks in the next campsite (who are now packing) bump into it on the way back from a bathroom run at night.
