So I have some waterproof Merrells and i was curious if they would work with crampons?
I have the Phaser Peak Waterproofs, anyone know if they will work?

seconded. I have similar boots and use them all the time with strap ons.
Crampons that is.

sorry imma newb, forgive my ignorance, but what are strap ons? (crampons that is lol) whats a clip on? and well these would just be for trail hiking on icy terrain. Can you give some examples of each kind?

http://www.rei.com/product/716230I used a lesser pair of boots than yours with an old pair of strap ons - worked fine for low angle climbing (~35 degrees). Sounds like a pair of strap ons would do you well.
