pot stand?

The pot stand on my stove is tiny. I always find myself in a situation with my stove sitting unevenly on a rock with a big pot of boiling water precariously balanced on too small of a pot stand. Sure, I could buy a stove with a bigger stand, but I don't want to. Is there anything out that's made to fix this? Another stand perhaps that goes around the stove that the pot can sit on for more stability? Does such a thing exist? Or am I the only one that has this problem?

I don't know if the MSR Trillium stove base would fit...
or pack a thin piece of wood in your backpack frame or even fit it inside or under your packed pot.
It would be just large enough to hold the stove, you could cover it in foil and place a couple hooks to hold the legs in place.

It would probably make it a lot more stable on soft ground and useable in the winter.

Warning: If you smoke the pot before you get out the extra pot stand to go with the one you already have, you will never find it.

I thought this was a post about the Los Angeles National Forest only in the wrong forum.

OP, I use a heavy sheet of foil that came with my stove (MSR Whisperlite) to lend more stability on soft surfaces.

This thread would have gotten way more hits if you'd have 'misplaced' an R in between the T and A in the thread title. And put it in the California forum.

Hmmm. Yeah, when I saw the title of this thread I was thinking pot stand = a new twist on "keg stand." (I'll defer to Larry to provide the accompanying image ...)

Anyhow, my recommendation = JETBOIL.

Cheers,
Sarah
