I know I cannot be the only climber out here that is 6'5", I know that because Ive seen you guys around before! My question is where do you guys get your pants from? It seems to me that EVERY company out there figures anyone that wants to enjoy outdoor activities must not be any taller that 5'8"! I have never been able to find a pair of pants, ski pants, mountaineering pants, or any type of climbing pant that has an inseam that's 36" and longer! Please post if you can help this problem that me and I'm sure many other have faced!

I'm 6' 7" with a minimum 36" inseam and 34" waist.
Mammut used to make their Base Jump and other pants in long sizes eg. 104, 106 etc but they're impossible to find, and expensive. Arcteryx make some long pants, but they're not really long enough for a 36" inseam, especially once you put a harness on.
Far and away the best I have is
www.beyondclothing.com I have their Cold Fusion pants, Steel Shock pants and Glacier Shock pants - all are excellent, amazing fit, so long as you fill out the custom body measurements right. I also have a couple of their jackets, which are also good. When you try on a custom garment like this, it makes you realise just how badly all that other crap fits. Only bummer with Beyond is the limited colors (not really a problem with pants) and the five week timeframe.

I often get the opposite problem.
I went to a theft store and found a stellar pair of mountaineering pants for very cheap which I was excited until I found out that they are the size that you want them in.
You might want to refer to my buddy Matt Lamke who is 6' 9" who may be of help.

I'd also consider checking out
nwalpine.com. The owner is tall and makes stuff for tall folks...I'm 6'5" with a ~35/36" inseam for technical pants.

I'm 6'5", with a 36" inside leg. I totally agree, it isn't the easiest task in the world to find outdoory trousers.
North Face do an extra long leg in some items, but you'll probably need to ask to get it specially ordered (well, that's generally the way it works in the UK) and also Craghoppers do a longer leg.

FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Apline Accents In Seattle Wa. I found a pair today of Mountain Hardware Navagation Softshell Pants, Large/Reg. and they fit really well, they could be an inch longer to be perfect but I think then I would just tear the bottoms up. Super comfy and stretchy, warm and pretty basic and lightweight. Next best thing was they were $130 marked down to $85. I really couldnt go wrong!

If you're in the USA also try REI. Some of their inhouse branded clothes come in long/tall sizes. My brother in 6 ft 4 in, and he bought a pair of bib ski pants from them that have a 36 in inseam (the bib-style allows him to use a smaller jacket).

Yes...I am 6 foot 9 inches tall. Pants however are not really that bad to get. For me, its shoes of all kinds I can't find.
Ski boots, mountaineering boots, climbing shoes, hiking boots, sandals, approach shoes...all nearly impossible to find in a size 17
Good luck though

I am 6'4", 32" waist, 34" leg. The Noronna Svalbard pants size Large fit me fairly well ( a little too loose on the waist)- I think they would fit someone with a 34-36" waist and 34" leg perfectly. However, the incorporated velcro adjustment system makes them perfectly functional.

I'm 6' 6" and I've been using Mountain Hardwear Tanglewoods, which fit me super well, they're large/long. Normal pant size is 32 W and 36 Inseam.

Sympathising with Matt Lemke wanting to find size 17 footwear, as I'm trying to buy mountaineering boots now, Meindl is a German brand that makes excellent hiking boots. I've had their Island Pro size 17 through Kilimanjaro, Nepal and Bhutan. I'm waiting to see if they can do a mountaineering boot, though.
