Ok, so I am going on a trip next year. I plan on traveling to a lot of different areas, such as Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan (July-August), Malaysia/Indonesia (September-October), SE Asia (November-March), Indian and Nepalese Himalaya (March-May). I hope to do some of the higher 'trekking' peaks in the Himalayas, and some 5000 m peaks in Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan. I have also thought about heading to New Zealand and/or Chile in January.
Currently I own Lowa Mountain Experts and Asolo Titan GV (similar to the Pumori and Sherpa). Living in AZ, I have not run into much weather to test how warm both of these boots are. But, since I am living out of a backpack for a year I am wondering if, given my objectives, there is any need to bring both of these boots (or if something different might be useful). I was thinking it might be possible to get away with just the Asolo. Thanks

I have been living out of my backpack the last five months and I wanted to dump my LS Trango sitting at the bottom of my pack touring India. You going to want just one. I was up at 5,600m on the Annapurna Circuit last November in my beat up trail runners. The trekking peaks in Nepal are around 6,000m. Rent heavier boots if you must but travel light.

Thanks! Where have you been traveling lately other than Nepal and India? Just out of curiosity, I am always looking for new ideas.

Peru & Bolivia are good destinations to climb and dirtbag.

SE Asia for the endless parties and once in a while a cultural experience.
