Teide in February, crampons?

Hi, My girlfriend and I are planning to climb volcano Teide in Tenerife at the end of Feb.

We are both reasonably fit and have hiked quite a lot, although never in winter conditions, hence this will be a learning experience. I realist that there will be a wind chill factor, hence we are thinking on taking our down jackets and skiing trousers + thermals + fleece + hiking poles

One item of inventory I'm not that sure about is crampons. Do we need them? and if we do, do they have to be professional (cat claw type) or simple anti-slip boot chains with spikes would do?
Obviously I would like to avoid buying expensive gear in case we will never use it again.

If anyone has done Teide in winter conditions please share your experience!

Thanks everyone in advance.
