How long would it take you to do 2,000 pullups :?:

For me, I figure it would be pretty damn good if I could get this done in a month....a 31-day month :)

Damn, I'm half his age and I wouldn't get much further than 20 pull ups.

Inspiring. 700 calories a day and training hard? Damn!

Just wait until he turns 55, that's when it starts getting harder.

That's only 111 per hour in an 18 hour day??? Hell, I can do 5 sets of 6 in an hour, but I'm only 51?? Wait... I'm just pathetic compared to him...

OK, I did 100 pullups today (5 pulls x 20).
So now I only have to do 1900 pullups over the next 30 days.
I suspect after a few months of this training I'll be ready for some Joshua Tree 5.7+....

.......on toprope, WoHoo! :)

I'm almost halfway through 10,000 pushups. It's a nice cross-train with a climbing wall, but it's taking 2x as long to finish as I'd hoped.

2000 pull-ups in a day? Part of me is hoping that's a typo.

I did 38 pull-ups (one for every year of my life) over six sets the other day and felt slightly proud. Now I feel like Kala Pataar in relation to Mt. Everest . . .

I read that Alex Lowe used to regularly do 400 pull-ups a day. He would start with 1, then 2, then 3, on up to 20, and then back down to 1 again.

One of the guys who climbed with one of my climbing partners Mikhail years ago (the guy was a young kid) did this every morning. He was also a 5.14d climber.

Its funny. Many climbing coaches say it has little affect on ones climbing ability, though the best do them. John Bacher used to do pullups with upto 135lbs hanging from his waist. There is a guy in Las Vegas who is a 5.14a climber at the age of 49 (or did he turn 50) and he does pullups on a daily basis with an extra 45-90lbs. Alex Lowe was infamaous for doing pullups wherever and whenever.

On the other end of the scale, and with good visibility to what it gets you, Tony Yaniro used to do hundreds of fingertip pullups everyday even back when he was 13 or 14. I guess it paid off in the end.

Interesting query...Dougal I think was a Scot and Stevie is English. and if Dougal were alive today, probably 15-20 years diffence in age? Yes, both were/are very diverse well rounded climbers. Dougal did walls in Yos., alpine, and Himalaya giants.
