I have to add, that lately "my state of...." has been sadly lacking, oh well!

Go for it Jennifer!

I used to run, but I have had persistent injuries since February of 2003. I ran cross-country, indoor and outdoor track all through high school and college. Although I ran 11.1 in the 100 meters, I truly loved cross-country. Every time I feel a fall breeze, I want to run 6 miles, but can't. I got back into running earlier this year, but got a stress fracture that hasn't yet healed.

I love racing, but the last race I ran was November of 2002, when I ran a 5 miler in about 31 minutes.

had a nice one today. Happy about it because of 2 reasons.
1. ran along the river Isar, the evidence of the recent flooding was quite something.
2. I´ve not been running well today, so started off nice and slow, but ater about 1 hour things worked better, the last 20 minutes felt pretty good!

I topped my personal best again! (nonstop run distance) :D

I was even rewarded during my last half mile when a cold front blew in and cut through the warm, humid air. Now it’s time for the thunderstorm.

The Pikes Peak Marathon filled up within 23 hours of online registration, so now the only way in is elite entry.

mountainspeedclimbing.org is run by the infamous DH. He has brought up some interesting points, but until he is forthcoming and apologizes for his own past mistakes most people won't take him seriously in his efforts for time-verification.

I know this is probably a severe case of regression, but I thoroughly enjoyed making this:

I promise I won't post that again....for another week at least...

Where/what did you run in college, hgrapid? You look about the same vintage as me. :) I ran the 400 hurdles, 400 and 500 at Cornell until 1998. Even ran at some meets in your neck of the woods at George Mason. I agree re: fall running. I ran x-c in high school, and trail running, well, it's a nice thing.

The thread has been resurrected!! Excellent - we should keep it going. Here's my info - I run about 50 - 60 miles a week, sometimes pushing 70 if I have enough time. I enjoy racing middle distance - 5k to half marathon. So far this year I have put up a 5k time of 16:30 and a 12k time of 44:01. No 10ks yet, but I hopefully will get one in next month. A question for all you marathoners out there - are any of you coming to the North Olympic Discovery Marathon on June 11th in Port Angeles? Have you even heard of it? It rocks pretty hard - it's a fast course with scenic views and a good number of people.

did not even know there was such a thread on sp...I used to run that many miles and that fast....I find climbing much healthier however.....I fiigure the main reason I perform so well now in the masters category is mostly attributed to attrition...we are definitely not made to run that many miles per week for ever....good luck with your races....it can be addicting...I did 30 one year...do several marathons every year now, we will do Tuscan Dec 10 and climb down there the rest of the month....never been, looking forward to it....sounds like the climbing is nice...should be a fast marathon course
