I'm heading to the Stanley area this weekend (6/20). Was wondering if there are any peaks I can climb without snow gear. Any pics would be nice. Thx

there was still a bit of snow a week ago but overall the melt is probably 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule. I would guess that most of the northern Sawtooth peaks would require some snow travel. You probably wouldn't need any specific gear to climb Alpine or Observation or McGown Twin. McGown, Merritt, Reagan, Williams, Thompson, Horstmann etc all probably would require ice ax and crampons. Go over to idahosummits.com and you can find some recent pics. Sawtooth Mt Guides also has a recent condition report.

I was up in Stanley on Monday and the northern aspects still have some remaining snow but the southern sides are almost bare. Check out the Sawtooth webcams for a real-time look.
