What do you mean by turn turn sideways? Can you provide a screenshot?

on normal computer those top two pics are rotated the way you would want them

Actually not a problem of SPs. Your Computer reads the EXIF information on the picture and thus knows that it has to rotate the picture in order to display like you shot it. Or if you rotate the picture with an imaging program - it won't rotate the pic at all but change the EXIF information. Meaning the pic is sideways even on your PC but you don't realize it as Windows gets the orientation right.

Now, html doesn't know anything abour EXIF data. It displays the picts as they are stored on your drive. And that's what you get here. Maybe - I'm old school - there is a way to convince html to read Exif (certainly some fancy javascript code would be possible) but that in turn would mean that tons of older pictures on the site would suddenly be rotated to a different orientation. So I don't think it would be an option.

An image rotator built into SP would solve this problem. The script would change the actual image itself if the rotate button was pressed.

This happened again with latest trip report link below. this time looks fine on iPad/phone but some pics sideways on my computers. while I sort of understand what Gandolf is saying is there something i can do so that the photos look correct on all devices?
