Stuck this here as it's irrelevant to most forums, and perhaps in general.

Anyway, I find it (slightly) interesting that some of my posted photos that one would think aren't all that interesting or great have thousands of views but little in the way of votes or comments. I take this to mean these views are coming from random people on the Internet looking up some terms or other rather than anything to do with the "I'll only vote if it's going to get a 10 / I'm feeling charitable".

From my stuff it seems the items that most commonly fall into this category are some of the http://www.summitpost.org/mountain-money/769281 contributions as well as Russian volcano pics. A photo of some blue flies on Bezymianny has got almost 4000 views, the same number of people looking at Mt Fuji emblazoned banknotes.

Anyone else surprised by which of their efforts gets attention?

My guess is most people are more attracted to volcanoes than any other geographic landform. Rather they vote on them or not.

I mean ... Yellowstone attracts more people annually than any other park. People like to see steam hissing out of the ground. It's the nature of the beast.
