One of the ads displayed on the top of the screen says "Hypoxic Expeditions". Personally, that doesn't appeal to me at all. Why would I want to go on an expedition where the main purpose is to deprive myself of oxygen? I would love to travel in high mountains, and one of the consequences of that is low oxygen, but I'd call that more of an unfortunate side-effect rather than an advertising facet. Thoughts?

Well, your post induced me to look at their website. Maybe they should give you a free trip.

Pretty ambiguous...other than that they're a guide service offering trips on the easier peaks in the CB. But what exactly is the "pre-acclimatization" program? There's no explanation of it other than some vague "sleep high, train low" and "hypoxic this and that" mumbo jumbo. The time frames of some of their trips seem pretty suspect...Huascaran Traverse in 8 days? And how many days for the pre-acclimatization program? Or is that part of the 8-days? I'd be hesitant to sign on for a trip with someone who provides essentially no details on what it is that they're offering.

That's funny. The only ad I get is for 'Smugglers' Notch - America's Family Resort' with pics of a couple of super-adorable kids. Need to get more hardcore!

I think the ads are keyed to age. I get mainly Activia and Metamucil banners.

That's hilarious! Most of the ads I get are targeted for big adventures. A lot of them look really cool.

As I was reading this I had the Hypoxic Expeditions add on top and the Smugglers Notch add on the bottom (I am also from the east coast)

My favorite is "The wrist ID from Road ID, it looks good and saves lives." its a silly wrist band with your personal information on it, but I always think of David Hasselhoff when I read that second part.

I'm also wary of Anorexic Adventures -- "All the climbing, half the food". There must be other ways to save weight.
