Bloody h... it's snowing!!

The 20th of April!!
Fields are being plowed and seeded, flowers are blooming, and it's supposed to be spring. Early spring, at least.
Waaaail!
So, where should one live to escape this bloody climate?
Wish list would of course be climbing/hiking possibilities, mountains, nice climate, politically sane, beautiful, sea.
Queensland, Australia comes to mind, but where else?

I believed Sacramento had another kind of climate.
The wish list is in wrong order though, "beautiful" is high up...
Lebanon would be pretty perfect though, wasn't it for the proximity to hotbeds.

I just got back from a hike where I got snowed on quite a bit. (Of course, I was wearing jeans and a cotton t-shirt, so I'm going to die.)

Well, it is rainy and dreary today, in Santa Cruz. Sunny California? Not exactly, but it is the first year that we have had normal amounts of rain in quite a while.

yep, we do need rain, so I have mixed feelings about the current weather.

The last of the snow melted in my yard two days ago. Of course, it is going to snow again in a day or two.

It was snowing at Red Rock (near Vegas) the last 2 days. I went on a "hike" from 4000 to 7000' yesterday, and had light snow (and heavy wind) for 4 of the 5 hours. Very little accumulation -- but up at the Vegas ski area, they had a new 2" as of 7AM, on top of a remaining 50" base.

We just got about a foot yesterday (near Vail, Co) but its hard to say exactly how much fell. The first 8 hours it was snowing the ground was so wet it was just melting on contact. The foot is an estimate based on the roofs of the cars in the parking lot
Of course the sun is out today and the roads (in town at least!) are already dry and the grass is poking back out of the snow. Gotta love April in the mountains!
