Hey mconnell, get used to it - it'll only get worse! Besides, you're just a young buck!!
OK, here's a little history. I received the following e-mail message supposedly on March 31, 2001, but I apparently joined on the 30th. Not sure how that can be explained because the message was my introduction to SP. Apparently Ryle had seen my photos on Club Photo or something. Anyway, here's the message I received:

Subject: Climbing Info
Hey there,
It's often hard to find useful mountaineering information on the web. Last week a friend and I finished setting up a web site that enables you to easily post information about your climbing experiences and upload mountaineering pictures. The site is designed to make submissions useful for others.
Last week dozens of climbers submitted hundreds of climbing photos and information on over 100 mountains. It is a fun site, and it definitely has the potential to be one of the best climbing sites on the web. Check it out at http://www.summitpost.com
Regards,
Ryle

Did any of you other guys receive this message or one like it? I didn't recognize any of the other recipients' e-mail addresses to be current members of SP.
At first I posted a few photos and lurked. Then I realized that someone would beat me to some of my favorite mountains if I didn't act, so I took the leap and put up some peaks that I had some decent photos of. The rest is history. It's really been fun watching this thing take off and fly. We're almost 4 years old, and growing fast!
