Catch the enemy off guard. I like it. It's a bold strategy soldier. Good luck and God speed. :D

Mount Sunflower - that's the one I'm training for now. I sure hope I can get up that one.

You haven't signed the climbers log for Mt Sunflower yet Kathy. Did the mountain defeat you?

Taum Sauk Mtn is next on my list. I hope to get down there before November.

:) I recently completed and wrote up a trip report for New York State's highpoint: Mt. Marcy.

:) Happy highpointing!

Congrats on your successful "hike" of Mt Marcy! So have you caught the climbing bug, or have you had enough...? :)

Knocked off Highpoint #33, Mauna Kea, Hawaii in December. Drive-up, then a five min. hike up the actual summit cinder cone. Don't bother with the $150 4WD rental from Hilo if the road is clear (check webcams, etc) because there is NO regulation on the road, 2WD's ARE allowed and there's no way the rental agencies can tell (unless you run off the mountain!) Save your money for the $8/gallon milk, for instance! I will post a trip report soon; sea to summit in less than two hours make one dizzy!!

Are there any other state low pointers out there? How about state mid-pointers?

Yes, Sunflower was just too much for me - I'll have to ramp up my training and try again. :)

About a month ago I finished a trip where I snagged 7 state highpoints in the southeast over two weekend. You can read about it here:

Enjoy!

I guess I'm a state highpointer. Right now I'm doing everyone in New England, but I've only got two on me, Mount Greylock, Cheaha. Here's a TR>>>>>
