Hi Everyone, I'm new here but super excited that I stumbled across your website. So far you guys are the only place I was able to find any information regarding trails to Grant Mountain and the Great Northern Mountain near Staunton Glacier in Flathead National Forest.

Long story short I am an advisor for a Venture Crew in Texas (I'm originally from WI thus the name :P ) and we are planning a backpacking trip this July in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and then hoping to stop at Glacier National Park. Our plan was to Drive the Going-to-the-Sun road and hike Grinnell Glacier....but between the road construction nearby and Covid-19 who knows what might actually happen. I was wondering if hiking the Great Northern Mountain might be a good alternate hike while still getting to see a Glacier.

1.) Can this be just hiked, no climbing? What I mean by that, is there any special gear needed to for this hike?
2.) Can teenagers hike this? I believe our youngest is 15 or 16.
3.) What is the water situation in July, do you recommend carrying all water needed or are there locations to filter?
4.) Maps? I have the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex map but of course it shows no trail, is there a better one to use?
5.) Any tips or comments are greatly appreciate

I'm not sure if it's better to get responses here or provide my email, so just in case my email is:

Thanks so much! :D
