On the very bottom in the middle of (I think) any page click

You will see some text including
Log in, choose "PM the Elves," and send whatever is on your mind.
"PM the Elves" is a link. Click it.
As for January not having 31 days, I tried it out and got the same results. PM the Elves about it and see what happens.
