Personally my limit is 4.810 m / 15,781 ft wich is the highest mountain that I've climbed, Mont Blanc, but I dream about other climbs for breaking my record. Elbrus is one of the mountains that I'd like to climb soon but there are many others as some in Africa, Andes and Himalaya, Africa. I'd like to know your limits and projects, take care.

Highest for me in Elbert in Colorado (14,440), but far harder was Rainier at 14,411. My goal is to get over 20,000 feet by February of 2005. Possible ideas include Chimborazo, Ecuador or a 6,000 meter peak in Peru.

My highest mountain so far is Mt. Whitney at 14,498 ft / 4,419 m. It was also one of the easiest. Hardest is probably Mt. Shasta (via West Face)... it was not technically hard but just a neverending snow slope with over 7K' gain from the trailhead.
Personal goals include Rainier, Elbrus (just like you Diego) and Ama Dablam. My dad climbed Elbrus 6 times, and plans to climb it again next summer. Perhaps, I will join him on that trip... Ama Dablam will have to wait until I quit my job and have at least 1-2 months of vacation time

Highest for me is about 5800m/19000 feet in the andes. Most difficult is either the Rainier Traverse or Mt. Frances in Alaska.

As for plans, most of mine are in the Andes as I've fallen in love with them. It is cheaper, more accessible and less crowded than the Himalaya or Alps. I'd like to do some of the more technical climbs in Peru and Patagonia. At some point in the next 10 years one of the lesser climbed 8000m peaks would be nice. The Gasherbrums or Broad would be fun, it's just that money thing that gets in the way.

My highest mountain so far is the Gross Venediger (3667 mtrs) in Austria. The highest point reached is 4032 meters on the Breithorn. Plans for the future : Mt. Ararat in 2004 and in 2005 we want to try Aconcagua in Argentina. And hopefully in 2006 my first Himalayan giant probably Cho Oyu or Chischang Pangma. I'm also thinking of Broad Peak in the Karakoram. And yes Mitz it's the money thing cause i would love to try my luck on Everest's north-face

Rainer 14,411 ft. I certainly want to do more but im only 16. I figure i have some time to think about it.

My highest was 18,438' (5620 m) in the Andes, but I'm attempting Elbrus 18,513' (5643 m) starting next week. Next March I'm attempting 21,079' (6425 m) Coropuna in Peru as a preperation for 24,757' (7546 m) Muztag Ata next summer. I'm looking for partners for the Peru and Muztag Ata Trips, so drop me an email!!

Kala Patthar at 5545m is the highest but hardly a technically difficult climb. In April I'm planning for Mera Peak at 6457m, which again is not technically difficult but good high altitude experience. The plan is then to go 500m higher every couple of years until I tackle an 8000-er.

My record of height is at Illimani (6438 m) in Bolivia, but I had to turn around because of storm shortly under the summit. In two and a half weeks I am leaving for Nepal and hopefully will climb Island Peak and Mera Peak.
Climbing even higher mountains? These are expeditions, which need many time and money. You have to climb up and down the same route many times to get acclimatization. And perhaps before the decisive day you catch a pneumonia and that's it. Surely I don't have the ablilies for such a mountain either.
If I climb in other continents I need much organization, local agencies etc. So each time after a trekking holiday I am looking forward to do climbing in the Alps where I can do what I want. A holiday in the Pyrenees would also be nice some time.

Mera Peak (21,247' / 6476m), is the tops for me. It's not likely that I'll get higher, but one never knows.

The highest that I have spent the night is about 20,100' (6126m) between Sherpani Col and West Col on the Makalu - Everest trek.

One forgets being cold and tired, but remembers the privilege of being up there.

My personal limit is Dent du Long (4345m) in RMNP.
my goal would be to climb anything higher than an Ohio Cornstalk. Hopefully that would include stuff like Mt. Elbert, Mt. Whitney, Mt. White in France but would settle for a drive up Pikes Peak.

Rainier was the highest I've been...but to be honest, I'm not too much into number-chasing when it comes to climbing, be it altitude or YDS grades. Remember, higher doesn't neccesarily mean harder, better, or more beautiful.

Whitney is my highest. I agree with Russki--I've enjoyed climbing mountains that are barely bigger than bumps.

I'll go ahead and answer this one. I've enjoyed reading your posts. I'm new to this 'climbing' thing (2 months) and all I've really done is walk-ups to date. The highest I've climbed is Mt. Adams (12,276'). Rainier is, of course, on the docket. It will be tackled next spring. Its the highest peak around(...but Adams has more mass, does that count for something?). We're looking at Shasta either next month or next spring as well. Right now we're focused on bagging the OR and WA peaks. Hopefully, given time and money I'll be able to venture out of the PacNW and onto bigger and greater peaks.
