Personally, for me its 6700M (22500ft+) but don't really care about how high I can go unless its a good technical climb and if the objective is gorgous, all the better. For me thats why I'll be in Nepal in the fall to do Ama Dablam (not a hard objective but damn gorgous) and then a significantly harder, gorgous peak at a lower altitude.

Have to agree, there are beautiful mountains in Canada (the Waddington Range, the Candian Rockies), Alaska, the Alps and in Peru and Argentina, which are all more affordable then the "Greater Ranges".

As for me I like to explore what I percieve is my limit (and my perception is usually wrong) usually in a technical or mental sense. I've always been an endurance junkie so my mind is pretty open to not having limits there.

Highest thus far was Denali, and while I have plans to go higher (Chimborazo in July '08 ) I have more anticipation for a summit of Gannett Peak (TBD). Climb on!

Elbert (4401/14440)

I'll be standing on top of Toubkal next week, which is going to be the first time over 4000 meters in quite a while now.

Personal goals; Aconcagua. As of present, i have no intention of going anywhere above 7000 meters, although this may change in the future. Also have to deal with financial issues (i'm still a student after all)

Cheers,
Clint.

My peronal record is 15,420 on Iztaccihuatl. I hope to top that on Mont Blanc this summer. I plan someday to get above 20k in South America.

My highest is Nevado Ishinca (5530 m) in Peru. Hope to get higher some time or other on Kili... And about dreams and plans, many of them: Everest Base Camp, Elbrus, Castor or Polux in Switzerland,... Perhaps Aconcagua, if I ever get the time and the money?

My limit was after a really bad call night as an intern in 1993. My wife returned home to find me in a dark house, I had been awake for 36 hours. Upon asking what was wrong I wept and blurted, "I can't go back, please don't make me go back!"Well, I did go back in the morning, never reached my limit again.

Oh,.......................... height of ascent. Whitney. Sorry to digress.

Not a peak but a pass, the Thorang La (c. 17,700) on the Annapurna Circuit. No problems breathing but it felt like I was walking under water. One of these days I'll hop on something taller and technical.

Clint, have fun on Toubkal. A neat summit and cultural experience. Great views over the vast Sahara.

-282 feet in Death Valley. Statistically, averaged over the surface of the earth, it is generally very hard to breath at this elevation. I had no problems.

Wow, this is old!

14,497' on Whitney is the highest. Not really after height records but I'm hoping to do something 18-19k ish in South America (or very maybe the Himalaya).

Windiest was 128ish mph on Humphreys Peak in Arizona (=scary).
