Good luck to them. I hope they win, but they probably won't.

All publicity is good publicity- I'm sure the lawsuit will help sales.

....too bad the gear giant will put them outta business with this suit, says I.

I likes 'em, too (and am going to be ordering a jacket, Shortly...)

IMO, the case is not a layup for The North Face, as satire has First Amendment protection. If they can find counsel to work pro bono, they should flip TNF the bird.

"Yo, North Face...suck on THIS...!!"

I'm with you on that. Talk about big corporations trying to put down small businesses, the kid just wants cash for college!

I guess I'll just start buying Arc'teryx gear...

(kidding about the Arc'teryx crap ) :D

cute, but a 180 degree rotation with one stripe missing of a registered trademark is probably NOT going to hold up in court.

you could have played off the name and logo without being so lazy. a smidge of creativity can make the difference in a trademark dispute.

North Face is a joke. Left real climbers and mountaineers a long time ago to go mainstream (mall crowd). Most folks who wear North Face now days have big butts. This kid is quite creative I thought....his disclaimer lays it out pretty damn simple.....

"We are not in any fashion related to nor do we want to be confused with The North Face Apparel Corp. or its products sold under "The North Face" brand. If you are unable to discern the difference between a face and a butt, we encourage you to buy North Face products."

While I agree in principle, I own an (by now very beat up) pair of NF hiking pants. Does that mean I have a big butt?

say waht you will about the big guy, the little guy, and TNF gone soft

I would have known damn well I'd be on the ass-end of some litigation or a cease-and-desist if I put out a product with those logos on them.

I don't think a satire protection would hold water, satire would be showing the products in a joke website or in a video to poke fun. not selling the products. big difference.

all of the sudden, the conservatives hate big corporations and trademark law. hilarious.
