Real simple. I draw the line where I draw the line.

Internet talk is very cheap.

I have dumped partners who are stupid.

so stupid that they put my life at risk

to stupid to understand just how stupid and dangerous they really are

True partners, ones who will die with you, are so difficult to find in this world.

I have about 5

a small club

can you spell elitism?

I'd call that good discretion. I've climbed once with people who are unsafe, but only once. If you can't trust the person's skill and judgment they are a liability to you because 1) if something happens to you, they'll be completely unable to help you, or 2) the more likely result, they'll be a risk to themselves, which puts you at risk because you're roped to them or may otherwise be required to put yourself at risk to save them. A bad scene either way.

Climbing can be dangerous enough as is. I don't need to stack the odds against me.

SO right now I'm pretty pissed because a week ago I had planned a climb with my friend. We talked on the phone for a while and I even took off work and didn't get my 40 hours of work in this week because I wanted to climb more. I got up super early to get ready and here I get a text from my friend saying hes hung over and can't come and climb.

Sorry I just needed to vent. i won't be climbing with him for a while.

Two options :

(1) Forget your partner and go solo.

(2) Big Bird sez he's lookin' for a partner !

I won't do multi-day trips with rhyang anymore. The llama takes up too much space in the tent.

a) you don't really get along with them

and/or

b) they are not safe enough for your own liking.

I also don't like it when people are totally unreliable for bigger trips. When I commit, I usually don't bail unless there is a good reason (weather, injury, etc.).
