It appears from searching her name, that this happened about a year ago (see http://www.theadventurelife.org/2010/05/high-attitude-illness-climber-goes-into-denial-on-denali/). It also appears that she is now in the U.S. (see http://www.newenglandtrailconditions.com/nh/viewreport.php?entryid=1808). I do hope they made he pay the fine before she could get a visa for coming back to the U.S. - but I seriously doubt that they did.

A year ago? The article is dated May 5, 2010.

The article first quoted in this thread says "For six days last May..." The article that I quoted says it happened a year ago. Sometimes news is hard to come by.

Anyone know any New England Area NPS rangers? Perhaps a little tip-off is in order.

First reaction: I wonder what someone with that attitude would consider "appropriate" brushing/blowdown removal.

Second reaction: This story hit Views on the 21st, which is also the date that was submitted. I'm guessing it's someone's idea of a joke.

It does appear to be bogus.

likely bogus.

And, sorry, but I haven't followed your threads too closely, did you climb already? Done? Success? Fun?
Talkeetna. . . ah, the memories.
Cheers.
