I already posted this on a few other sites but I didnt really get any answers.

I keep seeing news stories like these ones:

http://www.gadling.com/2011/02/26/how-w ... nal-parks/

Long story short I guess if the Government shuts down they close the National
parks.

Does anyone remember what happened in 1995 when they had the last Government
shutdown?

Can you just drive into the parks (cant remember if there is a real gate that can be closed or if there is just a guard house at the entrance at most parks I have been to)? Will they arrest you?

I would take all this "shut-down" business with a grain of salt, until it actually happens.

The 1995 shut-down wasn't all that significant. Congress has a way of listening to the squeaky wheel.

There are ALWAYS ways to gain entry into Parks, whether the gate is left wide open or not.
