Though it was first climbed in 1996 there is no Khakaborazi (5881 m) page in SP. Neither there is a Burmese mountain. How is that :?:

Takashi Ozaki (Japan, 1951-May 14, 2011) and Nyima Gyaltsen (aka "Aung Tse"; Burma) made the first ascent in 1996. Ozaki had attempted the mountain in 1995 but was turned back due to bad weather. Ozaki died May 14, 2011 while attempting to summit Mt. Everest. The route to basecamp is long (four weeks) and arduous through dense rain forest with many unbridged stream crossings. The recent first ascent can also be attributed to the policy that foreigners were not allowed into the area until 1993.

Probably no one on SP has climbed it, thus it shouldn't have a page.

There are very few pages for all of SE Asia, though plenty of peaks worth visiting.

Because only two people have climb it. One is dead and the other isn't an SP member. Most SP members agree that you should climb or attempt a mountain before adding it to SP.

Neither there is a Burmese mountain.

Myanmar has some of the most-climbed mountains in the world (but not in the northern region), but it has had recent political problems. I imagine that SP members will add peaks there eventually. Of course you could go climb them and be first. :wink:

Sounds like SP could do with an outreach program to mountain climbers living out that way. I was thinking of starting a thread at some point (assuming there isn't one already) on pages people would like to see that don't exist already. Mt. Spurr in Alaska would be a good one for me, right outside of Anchorage.

Someone I know landed in Burma today to do a recce for an attempt on Hkabo Razi, maybe next year. Burma has been opening up politically in recent months, but it's still a very delicate situation, particularly in the north.
