Trail/Weather Conditions for April 2 through April 8, 2019.

Please note: due to weather related issues the phone line at the Long Valley Ranger Station are down. Sorry for the inconvenience.
All trails (including Willow Creek to Saddle Junction) are open. Check with US Forest for any flooding concerns and trail closures in the burn areas from the Cranston Fire. Snow depth in Long Valley (next to Ranger Station) is spotty around 2-4” inches, 2-4’ feet in Round Valley, and 6-8’ feet at Mt. San Jacinto Peak. Avalanche danger will be low. All of the back country trails are not broken (don’t trust other foot prints). Round Valley creek is flowing and with the warmer weather, watch out for post holing in rock and tree wells. Snow Shoes, Micro Spikes, and hiking poles Use of winter/cold gear is highly recommended. Good navigational are a must in the back country as most of the trails are not broken.

Tonight - A chance of snow showers, mainly before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Windy, with a west wind 40 to 45 mph decreasing to 35 to 40 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 15 to 20 mph becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight.
Thursday - A slight chance of snow showers before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Thursday Night - A chance of snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Friday - A slight chance of snow showers after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Friday Night - A slight chance of snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Breezy.
Saturday - A slight chance of snow showers before 11am, then a slight chance of rain showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Windy. Saturday Night -A slight chance of showers before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Breezy.
