Best way to sell off gear?

Unfortunately, I'm getting out of mountaineering. All of the gear is lightly used with plenty of miles left on it. The items range from boots, tents, ice axes, etc.

Does anyone know the best way to sell mountaineering gear? I am planning on posting on this site but I want to know if it's better to list on eBay or Craigslist and post links, post only in the classified in one bulk post, or a post for each item?

Thanks in advance for any advice. Hopefully, someone can pick up some gear and get more use out of it than I am.

Hi,

I have had good luck selling here on Summit Post and on Cascade Climbers (http://cascadeclimbers.com/) as well as Craigslist. I have seen that Mountain Project (http://www.mountainproject.com/) is also very popular, but have never personally sold or bought from anyone on there. I personally dislike eBay for selling, but have on occasion purchased items.

Post all items in the same post, in subject line include "FS: My stuff". You don't need to include all items in the subject line, just the best items or a general description like "Men's clothes, tents, sleeping bags." Include name brands if they are a good brand.

In the post include good photos and descriptions with sizes. I find it easiest to make one post with all the photos and descriptions and then create posts on other websites with itemized lists and descriptions and links back to the post that has photos. This seems like a popular thing to do. One thing not to do, is link to an eBay auction, some web sites specifically prohibit that.

If you have a Facebook account why not mention it on there, you never know who will read it!
