looking at views from atop peaks?

Peakbaggers after reaching the top of peaks, how much time generally if any, do you spend looking out at whatever views? And how do you do so?

Of course after a strenuous effort one may need to rest for a period before descending, eating lunch, dealing with clothing and gear, scribbling something into a summit register, so am not referring to those minutes but rather the amount of enjoying whatever view, taking photographs of the landscapes (not selfees), taking out a map to identify elements like lakes, peaks, trails, and other features?

Of course even for those that do spend much time atop peaks looking out, such will vary greatly depending on the nature of views of specific peaks, the reason for reaching the top, time of day, weather, how one feels, whether or not one is alone or with a group, etc. Does looking out at views for these or other reasons even interest you? Or do you after snacking, relaxing, tossing the jacket in the daypack, usually signal getting back into a main focus and interest of just climbing such that you look a minute of three then ho hum and then get into the down climb?

I usually like to spend 30 minutes to an hour at the summit. Lunch, rest, conversation, and yes - views. It makes me slower overall than other peakbaggers, but I figure if it takes hours (days, including travel time) to get somewhere, might as well enjoy it!

Depends on how difficult the descent will be.

If I've got a very serious and technical descent ahead of me, I generally do not linger on the summit.

If the descent is easy, then I try to camp overnight on the summit.

First 5-10 minutes are for soaking up the views and taking photos. Then I eat lunch or snack and read map to find out what I am looking at (10-15 minutes). Then a seflie or two. If the descent is challenging, I rest a bit more (10 minutes) before going down.

It totally depends on the descent.
