I have to replace my machete. Have had it for 30+ years. Can't find any brand name on it. There are hundreds out there. looking for a suggestion for a replacement, not stainless steel, overall length (including handle) in the 22" range.

Have you tried looking at your local Home Depot or Lowes hardware stores? That's where my brother buys his. He uses a machete to get through thick chapparel brush here in Southern California (he's a surveyor) and over the years he's developed quite a talent is swinging the thing so he doesn't chop off a body part or two. No name on them, he just likes them with a full-tang steel blade (e-z to sharpen) and adjusts the grip size with strip of rubber from old inner tubes and duct tape.

Try a Condor sometime. A bit heavy, but it holds an edge for a long time. I use their Kukri machete myself, but they have standard versions too.
