So, While browsing through recreation.gov to find out weather or not Picnic Sites in either Big Cottonwood, Little Cottonwood and Milcreek Canyons required reservations, I noticed that sites such as Moss Ledge, or Church Fork we're not included in the list. So does this mean they're free or what?? In fact, none of the sites in Millcreek Canyon were on the Map, so how do you know how to get a site there (for day use only). We would want a site preferably in the Cottonwood Canyons.

I'm pretty sure the sites in Millcreek are first come/first serve, but there is a fee to get into the canyon.

Nothing is free, except for butterflies!

Signs, signs, everywhere a sign! I wanna get out of this Rat Race, and go back to the Sixties!

There is no fee or reservation requirement for Moss Ledge. I am sure it will be crowded up there this weekend, so get there early. Also, be advised that about once a year someone falls and gets seriously hurt trying to climb on the ledges. This might be one of the most deadly places in the Wasatch, mostly because it is easily accessible and a lot of people that don't realize the danger try their luck on the wet rocks.

Thanks Scott, how about the rest of the Picnic Areas?? because we will have little kids, and we probably don't want a dangerous place.

Sorry for not replying sooner but I have not been on SP. I don't know if Moss ledge closes, but I could be wrong. I am sure you could get up there as early as you want.

I don't want to discourage you from going there, just keep the kids off of the rocks, especially where they are wet. The spots closer to the parking area should be plenty safe. hopefully this wasn't too late.

Thanks for your help, the Trip was a huge success, and the family loved it, I though my little 6 and 7 year old cousins would go, but they had a unfortunate event that prevented their entire family from going.

So Moss Ledge is Open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and it cost $1 per person or if there's less than 5 people, then $5 per vehicle, pretty cheap compared to the other ones.
