Mount Timpanogos Help

We are going to hike Mt. Timp via the Timpooneke trailhead in February (15 mile Winter roundtrip). We plan to get to the trailhead on a THURS evening, hike a few miles and set camp, then get to the summit on FRI and set camp somewhere half way on the trail back, and then complete the last few miles back on SAT morning. We figured it would take longer given winter conditions. For those who know the winter trail, have we planned for too much time to take on the hike? Do we need crampons, ice axe, and snowshoes to successfully make the hike? I would very much appreciate your input. Thanks!

Avalanche safety would be my first concern, there are some large avalanche paths that must be crossed, unless you have taken an avalanche course I do not think it is advisable that time of year. Snowshoe or skis will be needed for the approach, you will probably need Ice ax and Crampons for the upper mountain.
