Just go buy one then.

Seriously, how cheap are you? Is $10 really that much of a premium to pay for new (life saving) equipment? Canadian dollars no less!!!

Christ!

Damn you internet!!!!

Fletch: there's no need for insults. I'm not sure where you are buying ice screws for $10! I'm starting out and need to buy a lot of gear, so cost is important. My local price is C$55-93.
This forum is for buying and selling climbing gear; are you going to send everyone a nastygram that they are cheapskates and should pay full retail?
This is one of my first posts to this forum. Not quite the warm welcome I was expecting.
Have nice day.

Sure man, I probably came on too strong for your first time. I dont want to blast guys off the forum... thats not my intention.

However, a new 16cm Black Diamond ice screw can currently be purchased from MooseJaw (as well as an assortment of other websites) for approximately $34 US. I'm having a hard time reconciling your request with common sense. What exactly were you hoping to pay for a used, sharp, and reasonably priced ice screw? $20, $10?

My reference to $10 is what I perceive to be the discount off a new one you're looking for. When pinching pennies on life saving equipment such as this, it does make one wonder if you'll have anyone on the other end of the rope you're hoping to secure to the ice with your used, sharp, reasonably priced ice screw.

Look, I'm not here to pick a fight. This topic has been dealt with before. But seriously, for $34 US, just go buy a new one.

Sincerely,
IM Fletcher

P.S. Have a nice day.

There's a bunch on mec gearswap.

Buying used hardware is good. So many people buy all the gear brand spankin new for their two day crevasse rescue course then find out that it's hard work walking uphill all day. Most of the second hand stuff around my area is pretty much new.

Saving $10-20 here and there really adds up over the cost of a rack, swingy hooky things and other personal equipment.

Fletch: I was not aware that MooseJaw's prices were so low. Cheaper than used price on MEC gear swap and eBay. Thanks, Ken.
