Why exactly was it necessary to take a swipe at a member who contributes as much as Josh does?

The fault is not with PanamaRed. He played by the rules and was trying to contribute.

Instead, it is yet another fine example of the mindlessness that goes with photo voting here, and yet another exhibit in my case for doing away with photo voting altogether.

Personally, I would be fine with the voting system going away. If it did go away, what would than mean for Photo of the Day and Week? Consider now the changes that are within possibilities. I say make votes anonymous except for the administrators.
