The Annual Mountaineering Summary for Denali N/P has not been issued yet for 2009, probably due to the retirement of Daryl Miller. It usually comes out in February. I hope they continue that tradition. I always enjoy reading the new climbing accomplishments and stats for the previous year.

Me also! Especially since I was there last year.

Another part says they will work on them in the spring. http://www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/c ... istics.htm

Cheers!

If the below comment is what you are referring to, I believe that is in reference to the climbing statistics for next year, not the 2009 annual summary.

Looks like the 2009 climbing season has come to an end! Tune in next spring and when we start to crunch the 2010 mountaineering statistics.

Daryl Miller used to put together the annual summary reports but he retired last year. It doesn't seem like anyone else has stepped forward yet to take over that role.

The 2009 Annual Statistics have been posted to the DNP website.

Two of the fatalities this year hit especially close to home; two former recipients of the Denali Pro Award lost their lives while attempting to climb the West Rib. In honor of these two men, and to recognize who they were as people and as climbers, we have renamed the Denali Pro Award as the Mislow-Swanson / PMI Denali Pro Award.

Thanks for the heads up! The 3rd busiest summit day was also my summit day--25 May. Weather windows are certainly important and needed. Cheers!
