Vancouver BC Suggestions

Hi all,

My partner and I will be going to Vancouver BC for the first time this summer, looking to have a couple days in the city and then maybe 3 days backpacking. We're looking for good climbs in the area that can be done in maybe 2 days that involve some good views and preferably no glacier travel (since we don't want to bring a rope). We have experience in steep snow, but would prefer not to climb anything that requires two tools.

Thanks!

Ossa in the Tantalus Range across from Squamish is glacier-free and scenic.

I spent 2 nights at Semaphore Lakes north of Whistler this past August. We scrambled up Locomotive Mountain, and there are several others peaks in the area that can be climbed without glacial travel. Really scenic area, but like many areas within a few hours of Vancouver, it's quite popular.

Great day climbs in the North Shore Mountains immediately north of Vancouver include Brunswick and Crown. There are trails to the top, with some moderate scrambling towards the summit on both peaks, but the views are phenomenal and worth the crowds.
