I'm planning a trip to Orizaba, on the normal route. I read a loot of info about the peak, but I'm still looking for some prices regarding 4x4 trip to the hut, lodging in Tlachichuca, bus transportation, best place to stay, meals, etc.

In December, Servimont charged me $110 for one nights lodging, meals and transportation to/from the mountain. Two nights was going to cost $150 or $155.

I was there 2 weeks ago and stayed at Joaquin Canchola Limon's Hostel. It was $160 for 2 nights, meals, water and transportation. The hospitality and food were incredible. His daughter Maribel speaks English and my Spanish was rusty, so that was nice. Most of the food we ate was from the hostel. We did supplement with a little bit of street vendor food the day we left. Great Sunday market if you are there. As far as bus transportation, we took a bus from the TAPO station in Mexico City to Puebla then on to Tlachichuca. For the return trip the bus will pick you up right in front of Limon's Hostel. I dont remember the price for that though. It was pretty cheap and the bus was nearly empty. I cant speak for Servimont but I would stay at Limon's again. Good luck, climb safe.

Servimont is awesome and have english speaking hosts and a family run business. We came off the summit five hours after we scheduled with our ride and our transportation was still there waiting for us. Ive heard stories about peoples rides being gone when climbers came down before their scheduled time. I highly recommend Servimont.

My group stayed at the Casa Canchola.

It was a nice place to stay and Maribel and Joaquin were really nice, but Maribel did try to charge us more until we got her to break it down by item, and the 'package price' was considerably more than the total of the individual items.

You gringos have to learn how to bargain!

We did the summit Sunday, March 1-st, in a beutifful weather, but realy windy.
