Made the summit of Rincon 3 days after leaving Mendoza, survived a freak katabatic wind that blew away the outfitter´s shelters from Salto, got in a couple rock routes of sorts, and met summitpost´s own DavidGalvin and Danielle.

Hi, great TR! I visited the area a year ago and climbed Vallecitos. Yours is the second trip report I have read describing freak high winds at Salto. Fortunately, I didn't experience anything worse than the "rest area" at Salto Was this a warm-up for Aconcagua, or a destination in itself?
