Hey all!

So I am frustrated with the nitty gritty details that I cant seem to find....

I was recommended to get the map 'Aconcagua the map'. I went to the site Aconcaguathemap.com and I cannot seem to order the map. I need two of them but I can make do with one...

Does anyone have a copy of this map? Or have one that is just as good if not better? I would obviously be willing to buy it. Let me know.

Hi Eric:

I have this map if you need it. Try ordering it from Aconcagua.com in their store section.

Also, they used to be available at the Hotel Ayelen in Penitentes.

Also try contacting Fernando Grajales to see if he has any at their office which is also in Penitentes.

Download something from the Internet. You're not going to practice orienteering there anyway. It would be really difficult to get lost on the mountain, so the schemes you can find online are pretty much everything you're going to need. Unless you like to collect maps of course.

That website seems to be broken for ordering. If I were you I would order a couple of the other topo maps available on Amazon. That way you have something for planning. Read the descriptions carefully and look at the sample images. Some are better than others.

When I was down there I got lucky and bought an El Mapa in a store at Puente del Inca. Also there were some stores in Mendoza that had some maps. Keep your eyes open.

I like this guidebook and found it to be useful:

Got the guide book. We just like to have a good map of the mountain when we go. Its one of those things... we always carry a good map and compass. Brad I will take a look. I know you have the map, hence we were looking for that particular one. Ha. It looks like we are almost all done with things and are ready to go.

I forgot where I bought mine, but that was 3 years ago.

Is this the map?: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/187956811X/ref=dp_olp_3
The first couple of prices look reasonable, but check out the ones at the bottom, like $78.70.

And here is a different online map. Hard to read, but you can still see key points, roads, and routes:

This is a good map too that used to be available at several stores in downtown Mendoza.
