Hi,

I'm having a hard time finding anything other than travel road maps for Argentina for my Garmin Dakota 20 GPS. I have the standard Aconcagua topo map in print form, which I suppose I could scan and load as a custom tagged image in the gps, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a digital topo of Aconcagua that would be compatible with Garmin?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

these two sights offer some free GPS layers for argentina - i think the topos are 150m contours - there are also planimetric maps available - there may be others for sale - i believe you have to register first - both sites are in spanish

so far, i've been unable to find similar layers for other countries in the cordillera
Does anybody know any good gps resources for chile, bolivia, or peru?

As a follow up:

I went to .gps.com.ar and after registering downloaded their map of Argentina/Chile.

Initial views in mapquest shows fairly large countours (250 ft, maybe) (with better results near Aconcagua - 100 ft) which in my (limited) experience is adequate for getting you there and back.

No trails/routes appear to be present so next I will try to find and add these.

I am confident that this map will greatly help me when exploring Argentina's mountains.
