I'm headed to Cotopaxi in January. I've got both boots, not sure on which ones to pack. Any suggestions? I do not want to take both pair and decide at the hut.

Baruntse.

Evo's will be more comfy and probably will be fine. But if you find yourself in a bad place with bad weather, you'll want the Baruntses...

It's sort of a gamble. My preference is to remain conservative on things like gloves, boots, and hats...

I did Cotopaxi at the beginning of this year on my Trango Extremes (Evo Light GTX) and I was totally fine. I understand the Nepals are a bit warmer so you should be OK with them. I agree with Fletch that is important to play it safe, but in my humble opinion being able to move quickly is part of that strategy. Good luck in your climb, Cotopaxi is a beautiful climb.
