Posted: Fri Jun 23, 2017 12:03 amAccording to several guides in Huaraz, there have been no ascents of Huascaran this year (as of mid-June). Chopicalqui has been climbed but snow is waist-deep near the top. This has been an unusually wet year and the dry season is starting later than usual. Good conditions on lower mountains (Pisco, Yanapaccha, Ishinca, Vallunaraju).

Posted: Sat Jun 24, 2017 3:55 amI am in Huaraz now and several teams have claimed to have climbed Huascaran recently. Supposedly conditions are OK, but not great. Still better than last year.
