Hi
I am going to Nepal with my bro in march, 2010. I am planning to go for Lukla to Thyngboche Monastry trek.
Do we need to take any special permission for this trek. If yes then where we'll get that?
Is it possible to do this trek by ourselves or we need to hire a porter or guide ?
We need to carry food for those 4-5 days or we'll get it on the way ?
Did we need to book Kathmandu to lukla flight in advance ?

Waiting for reply
welcome for any furthe information
Thanks in advance...

cheers... :D :D

I think you'd better contact a local tour operator to get the permit and to book tickets to Lukla and a hotel in Kathmandu. I can recommend www.holidaysadventure.com. There is enough food on the way, you do not need to carry it. You can buy a trekking map in Kathmandu and do without a guide. One porter for the party of two will be OK (you can easily hire him in Lukla).
For more info this link is rather useful http://www.yetizone.com.

But why only to Thyangboche :?: :!:
