I've just been informed that my flight from Guangzhou to Kathmandu for next week has been canceled. All flights on China Southern Airlines have been canceled through the end of next week due to fuel shortages. My travel agent cannot find any other available flights. Does anybody in Nepal know what the situation there is? Has anybody heard from other international airlines that are canceling flights? What about fuel for autos in country? Any information would be appreciated.

Supposedly India is sending a few oil tankers as relief aid for Nepal. Since jet fuel doesn't seem like a normal "relief" item, I doubt that Kathmandu is suddenly going to have fuel for air traffic in and out of the Kathmandu airport. I'm just an armchair observer though, so my thoughts should probably be verified by more experienced members that are in communications with people inside of Nepal.
