We started planning our trip with no clue where to trek, but we wanted to trek in the Himalayas and less touristy. We bumped into Sikkim region which drawn our attention immediately because of the fact it is still not very popular.

If you want to do high altitude trekking in Sikkim Himalaya then it is must that you have to go through a local trekking company. The trek was accompanied by local staffs and the animals which was the highlight of the trip. We realized how important it is to trek with the locals instead of doing just by your own. Our staffs were the best :)! Good looking, hard working and most importantly very very friendly. Without them, I guess the whole trip would have been not the same.

We did Goecha la round trek which is also known as Kasturi trek which was great! The trek is more difficult than we thought but since we were eating very good and carrying just a day bad, it helped us a lot.

During the entire trek we slept in the tent which was exactly what we had imagined while trekking in the Himalayas, what you need is A VERY GOOD sleeping bag!

After the trek we spent a night at a village of our local staffs and that was AWESOME. How happy people are with a little thing but they have fresh vegetables in their garden and amazing nature.

We recommend Sikkim and our trip organizer Sikkim Travel Express (www.sikkimtravelexpress.com) if someone is looking for an authentic experience in Sikkim.
