When I first moved to COLO SPGS I started looking for a climbing partner. I met one guy, and we agreed to meet for a beer to discuss a climbing partnership.

He told me that he had climbed "EVERY SINGLE PEAK in Colorado."

"Wow! Every single peak in Colorado! That's amazing! There must be THOUSANDS of peaks in Colorado!!"

He looked at me funny, and said, "No, there are only 59 peaks in Colorado."

Needless to say, I didn't want to have anything to do with a person in that mindset.

What is the obsession with peaks above 4,267.2 meters? Talk about an arbitrary outlook on life.
